Kris Lawrence finally admits he is the father of Katrina Halili’s child!

In a joint exclusive interview with Funfare and Startalk last week, Katrina Halili confirmed that she is three months pregnant (due to give birth in September) and named her boyfriend, Fil-Am singer Kris Lawrence, as the father.

Kris, who belongs to Arnold Vegafria’s stable of talents, has remained mum, begging off from reacting to the Funfare/Startalk scoop - until today, that is.

In an exclusive interview with Funfare, Kris admitted that, yes, Katrina was right.

“I’m the father of the baby,” said Kris, “and I’m ready and willing to support Katrina and our baby.”

Although Katrina’s pregnancy was “not planned,” Kris echoed Katrina’s reaction when she learned about “the good news” last February.

“Sobrang happy,” said Kris who also confirmed that he and Katrina have been going steady since 2008 but broke up for a while last year. “She said she wanted to concentrate on her career and I let her. Soon, we got back together again.”

Asked if he’s ready to be a father, Kris, who at 28 is two years Katrina’s senior, said, “Yes, I am. I know how to change diapers and prepare the feeding bottles because I’ve done that to help my relatives and friends babysit back in the States.”

The sweethearts met in 2008 during Katrina’s US concert tour in which Kris, who had just won the ABS-CBN talent search Star in a Million, was a guest performer.

“We clicked at once,” recalled Kris who never left Katrina during the “hidden video” crisis (she lost the court case, sigh!!!). “I’ve met her family and she has met my family. I guess we know each other very well.”

Like Katrina, Kris said that they haven’t really discussed marriage yet.

“It’s something that shouldn’t be rushed,” Kris explained. “As of now, we’re focusing on Katrina’s condition. We make sure that she’s safe.”

In the Startalk/Funfare interview, Katrina mentioned what her father had told her — “Just because ‘something like that happened’ doesn’t mean that you have to rush into marriage.”

As long as she can, Katrina will remain in the cast of the GMA soap My Beloved in which she plays kontrabida, co-starring with Dingdong Dantes and his girlfriend Marian Rivera. Since her tummy is fast growing, she may have to wear less sexy clothes but promised to get back in shape after giving birth. Katrina was twice voted Sexiest Woman in the World by FHM magazine.

When My Beloved ends, Katrina said she will stay with her folks in Palawan and return to Manila in time to give birth — “The natural way,” she said.

In a light vein, Kris said, “My family is excited about the baby because it’s their first apo. My mom has been teasing me when I would give her an apo, so here it comes.”

Kris has a younger sister. They were both born and raised in California.

“I’m looking forward to the day when my child is big enough to play football with me,” he added.

Since he shares a house with good friend and relative Jay-R, also a US-bred singer, near where Katrina lives in New Manila, Quezon City, Kris can easily check on Katrina regularly. He’s on alert for whatever she needs, at her beck and call.

Asked if they’re planning to live together as a couple, Kris said, “No. Anyway, magkalapit lang naman ang tirahan namin.”

Katrina Halili is 3 months pregnant with Kris Lawrence’s child!

Katrina, who is currently in the cast of the Kapuso primetime series My Beloved, was recently rumored to be leaving the show due to health concerns. The said reason was confirmed to be her being pregnant after she decided to go public with it through an interview with columnist/TV host Ricky Lo.

She first learned that she’s pregnant in February. Katrina said Kris was very happy with the news but at the same time felt so useless because the actress didn’t wanna see him while she was “naglilihi.” She only wanted to cook all day and luckily never experienced the normal nausea and vomiting that other women experience during the first few months of pregnancy.

Despite the reports that the two have separated ways after Katrina got involved in the Hayden Kho scandal back in 2009, the sexy actress revealed in an interview with Ricky Lo that Kris has always been there for her.

It was in 2008 when Katrina and Kris went public with their relationship. The R&B singer even formally introduced Katrina to his family during a short vacation in the US in 2009. That same year, however, they broke up when Katrina got involved in the much talked about scandal.

But despite confirming the breakup, Kris still talked fondly of Katrina back then. He even admitted that they almost got married before they broke up in 2009.

During the interview with Ricky Lo, Katrina admitted that while she and Kris indeed separated for a short while, they decided to keep their reconciliation private to avoid further controversies.

But are they getting married now that they are again out with their relationship and with an unborn as the fruit of their love?

“Hindi pa kami handa,” Katrina told Ricky Lo. They don’t want to rush things just because she became pregnant.

Katrina also said that she indeed asked to be removed from My Beloved because she wanted to take care of herself and the baby she’s conceiving. The production, though, wouldn’t allow her because they need her for the character. It’s just okay for her to stay, though, but she doesn’t wanna be staying up late.

Good thing her character in My Beloved is also pregnant so her tummy won’t be a problem even if gets bigger as the days go by.

Rumors about Katrina Halili being pregnant gets abuzz online. According to reports, Kapuso star Katrina Halili will exit very soon in GMA Network’s soap opera “My Beloved“, playing the antagonist in Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes‘ love story. Speculations that she is pregnant with singer Kris Lawrence’s child.

It all started with a blind item about a controversial actress connected to a major TV station and part of a primetime teleserye currently airing is expecting a child with her longtime boyfriend, a singer who started as a grand champion in a singing contest from a rival TV station (ABS-CBN) where he is connected now. The two started going out long before the actress’ video scandal came out.

They reportedly broke up because of the controversy but now the news about the actress’ pregnancy courtesy of the singer is started to make showbiz buzz.

It's actually not a newly-made video featuring Katrina Halili in another scandalous act, but a 3-year-old video of her doin' a sexy baby talk with an unidentified guy (many suspect that the guy is no less than the great Hayden Kho Jr.)

Katrina Halili's new video entitled "Katrina Halili Interview" has been uploaded on Youtube in June 5, 2009 and it's only this 2012 that's its going viral on the internet, especially on Facebook.

It already has almost half a million hits, and 70% of it came from Facebook.

The video uploader alleges that Katrina was high on drugs in the video. "Katrina naka-drugs," the video description says.

 

This new viral video already came to the attention of Katrina's home network, GMA 7.

In fact, GMA News already reported about it thru a newsflash last week and Katrina already reacted on the video via Staltalk last Saturday.

At least, there's something to talk about Katrina especially that she has a new soap coming up, "My Beloved", topbilled by Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

Why is it, that whenever Katrina has a new soap, there's also news about a video scandal of her?

That was in October 2010. Katrina's new soap then was 'Beauty Queen' and in perfect timing, an alleged updated version of her video with Hayden also made it to news headlines.

It's either the video is being used as publicity stunt, or maybe because people always associate Katrina with video scandals, that whenever they hear the actress' name, they look for her videos on the internet.
