ABS-CBN denies rumors of replacing : “It’s Showtime”

ABS-CBN, through its Head of Corporate Communications Division Mr. Bong Osorio, has released a statement saying noontime show “It’s Showtime” will not be replaced.

Here is the full statement:

There is no truth to rumors that “It’s Showtime” will be replaced. ABS-CBN is neither replacing “It’s Showtime” with another program nor moving it back to its earlier timeslot.

In fact, “It’s Showtime” today, April 30 kicked-off the launch of its new segments starting with the multi-talent showdown among Filipino families following the inter-town grand finals last Saturday, April 28.

The viewing public can look forward to the launch of new entertainment segments in the coming days as ABS-CBN continues on its mission to bring fun and hope to the Filipinos here and in TFC markets worldwide.

Bacolod Masskara Wins 'Showtime' Inter-Town Edition Grand Finals!

Sweeping 10 judges’ score cards with perfect 10 scores, dance group Bacolod Masskara was declared the grand champion of the fifth season of the ABS-CBN noontime variety program “It’s Showtime" on Saturday, April 28.

Bacolod Masskara, the representative of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental in the “Inter-Town” competition of “Showtime,” earned a cash prize of P3 million after beating Amazing Paper Dolls, Tiklad, Infinite Reform, Lahing Anda, Dumaguete’s Pride and Next Level Octomix,.

A third of the winnings will be given to Bacolod City, while P2 million will be awarded to the performing group.

“Madlang people” and “hurados” alike were roused to their feet as the group kicked the spectacle into high gear, with giant masked figures emerging from the audience, and a confetti-showering helicopter joining the troop of dancers in Bacolod City.

Bacolod Masskara is the sixth grand champion of “It’s Showtime,” following triumphs of XB Gensan (Season 1), Laoag City Gymnastics Group (Season 2), True Colors (Season 3), Astig Pinoy (Season 4), and CCP Bobcats (Campus Clash Edition).

According to PEP Alerts, It's Showtime director Bobet Vidanes has resigned, a reliable source reported. The resignation of Showtime genius Direk Bobet as the director of the said ABS-CBN noontime show was due to an alleged misunderstanding of the former with Vice Ganda and other hosts.

Madlang People Take Limelight in ‘It’s Showtime’

ABS-CBN’s new noontime program “It’s Showtime” has just started serving up unparalleled fun to the madlang people with its amusing games and exciting prizes but it already became the most talked-about local topics on Twitter during its much-awaited pilot last Monday, February 6.
