Blake Griffin did it again. In fact, he somehow did it fiercer, stronger and with less mercy. During the third quarter of the Clippers-Thunder game on Monday night, reigning NBA Slam Dunk champion Blake Griffin rose up and Mozgov'd Kendrick Perkins.
Griffin's powerful slam over the surly starting center for the Thunder was so instantly reminiscent of Griffin's most famous in-game dunk over then-Knicks center Timofey Mozgov that Clippers announcer Michael Smith asked his broadcast partner Ralph Lawler, "Is it possible to top what he did last year?"
Lawler gushed in response, "[It's] almost a Mozgov!"
"It's better than a Mozgov! I didn't think it was possible to top him," shouted Smith.
Griffin quite literally did "top" Perkins, just as he did Mozgov. After setting a screen for Chris Paul and then taking a pass as he rolled to the rack, Griffin rose up. Seemingly too far from the rim to ever get there, he rose up and drew enough contact for the foul and then, somehow, managed to keep pushing toward the hoops and throw the ball through the rim for two points.
After Blake did what Blake does all over the previously intimidating Perkins, Twitter went and did what it does. Perhaps the most impressive thing about this insta-frenzy was the amount of athletes who were tweeting their amazement alongside fans, journalists and the hoops twitterati. Players from the NBA as well as MLB and NFL athletes were wowed by Griffin. Even LeBron James had to concede this posterization bested the mercenary, leap-frogging he'd committed against John Lucas.
Dunk of the Year!! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!! Wow!! I guess I'm #2 now. Move over #6
The "Harapang Nominasyon" or Face to Face Nomination had the housemates nominating one teammate who they wanted to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
From Team High Voltage, it's Wendy Tabusalla having the most votes, while Deniesse Joaquin was the most nominated housemate from Team Wayuk.
Here's how the Face To Face nomination was done ("who nominated who"):
TEAM HIGH VOLTAGE Biggel nominated Wendy Carlo - Wendy Divine - Wendy Eting - Wendy Tin - Wendy Wendy - Carlo
TEAM WAYUK Deniesse - Seiichi Kevin - Deniesse Paco - Deniesse Pamu - Deniesse Seiichi - Deniesse Slater - Paco
What will happen now with Wendy and Deniesse? Are they leaving the house?
Kuya (Big Brother) told the two nominated housemates that he's giving them a chance to prove they're deserving to stay in the house.
"Hindi pa dumadating ang takdang panahon para kayong dalawa ay lumabs na," Kuya told Wendy and Deniesse.
Gretchen Barretto and Diether Ocampo have already denied in earlier interviews that "Alta" has been shelved, but Luis negated that the other night on Twitter.
According to the new 'Kapamilya Deal or No Deal' host, "Alta" is indeed not pushing through anymore. "Sa mga nagtatanong, nope, hindi po tuloy ALTA :) don't ask why. Management po nagdecide, matagal na yung trailer na yan :)"
Luis was referring to the Alta trailer which was posted on Youtube last week.
The trailer shows the cast members and the characters they're going to portray in the soap.
When it was released, "Alta" even made it to the Philippines' Trending Topics list on Twitter.
A lot of fans are really frustrated to hear that Alta has been shelved.
It could have been so exciting to see Gretchen and Angelica Panganiban in an acting showdown.
Fans of KC Concepcion are also disappointed 'coz it could have been the most challenging role for her.
It's also a sad news for the fans of Zanjoe Marudo, whose other show "Hiyas" was also shelved.
But the most disappointed actually were the fans of Angelica Panganiban.
When was the last time Angelica had a teleserye other than a guesting on 100 Days To Heaven?
It was long ago, in 2010, with the soap "Rubi".
That means, this great and award-winning actress has no soap for almost 2 years already and she has no other soap coming up except for "Alta" which unfortunately isn't pushing through.
Maybe, we can already consider Angelica as an "under-utilized" Kapamilya actress.
There are also rumors going on that Alta will still continue, but with change in casting, and new Kapamilya Iza Calzado reportedly will join the cast.

Sarah Geronimo's new weekly show on ABS-CBN will premiere not on February 19, but on Feb. 26.
The weekly musical show 'Sarah G Live!' which will feature the PopStar Princess Sarah Geronimo as its host and performer, will be shown on an early Sunday evening timeslot starting Feb. 26, contrary to reports that it will take the 9:30PM timeslot of 'Gandang Gabi Vice', which only has until February 19.
That's quite a good move since Sarah is also a hit among kiddies and with its early timeslot, the kids will be able to watch the show without staying up late.
On E-Live's final episode last Saturday, Luis Manzano revealed that he will be part of 'Sarah G Live!' as Sarah's regular co-host.

Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda battled in a sing-and dance number during Anne's ANNEBISYOSA: No Other Concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum (January 28, 2012).
The PopStar Princess Sarah Geronimo and Princess of All Media Anne Curtis share one stage to perform "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing".
It's cute how Anne introduced Sarah Geronimo as the real Concert Princess, and Sarah definitely had her own moment in Anne's concert.
Sarah Geronimo also performed "End of Time", which was beyond great and highly-applauded.
For sure, the crowd for a while forgot that they're watching Anne's concert and not Sarah's.
Even real estate heiress and fashion model Divine Lee was in great awe watching Sarah's performance.
Divine, who's a close friend of Anne, said on Twitter last night that it was her first time to hear Sarah singing live. Her tweets would tell that she was so impressed with the PopStar Princess.
"Eto na! @annecurtissmith with Sarah Geronimo! Grabe ang ganda ng boses... Ni sarah! Haha! Love u Anne! Ikaw din. :)"
"Nakakaloka... First time to hear Sarah Geronimo. Iba siya. May sanib. Galeng!"
"Ok Sarah G fan na ako. Promise."
"Sino President ng Sarah Geronimo fans club? Pwede ako pumalit? Graabbbbbeeeee!"
So, did Sarah Geronimo own Anne's concert?
Maybe, unintentionally, it happened for a moment, but Sarah was actually so admirable that she let Anne shine and did not outshine her in the said concert.
In their 'biritan', she made everyone feel that it's Anne's concert, and not hers.

What began as a search for the country’s most entertaining acts two years ago turned out to be a hit variety program that launched a thousand trends for Filipinos here and abroad.
The show has, in its own way, established itself as its own brand of entertainment thriving on spontaneity and animated conversations. It is more fun in “Showtime” as it keeps churning out popular catchphrases and gimmicks, draws people and barangays together to showcase their talents, and finds thrill and joy in the most mundane situations.
Since it went on air in October 2009, it became a source of the phrases ‘may nagtext,’ ‘party-party,’ ‘Baliwag University,’ and even propelled terms like ‘havey’ and ‘waley’ from obscurity into mainstream use.
‘Madlang people’ and ‘unkabogable,’ probably the past year’s biggest and most enduring words, are now infused into Filipinos’ everyday discussions and get-togethers.
Its immensely well-known ‘sample’ segment also drives celebrities like its hosts Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Vice Ganda, ‘Kuya’ Kim Atienza, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz and the numerous actors, entrepreneurs, models, and athletes who served as judges in the show and the ‘madlang people’ out of their comfort zones.
When the crowd starts yelling, “Sample! Sample! Sample!” they should pull out all the stops for a talent exhibition that should be as compelling as possible.
A prominent trendsetter, the program also promoted gimmicks such as the ‘face dance,’ ‘nose-to-nose,’ and the ‘take your shirt off’ portion that became instant hits and endeared by audiences.
The much-anticipated ‘word of the day’ segment also challenges not only the hosts and judges but the ‘madlang people’ to formulate puns of strange-sounding English words.
Amidst its successful run, the show’s hosts remain its true assets. There is never a dull moment what with Vice’s offhand observational humor, Vhong and Billy’s refreshing wit, Anne and Karylle’s undeniable charm, Kuya Kim’s characteristic cleverness, and Jugs and Teddy’s comic quips that all make up for the show’s remarkable appeal. Moreover, it was also in the talent-variety show where the public watched the unfolding of Anne’s wacky side through her often amusing opening chant.
True to the slogan ‘magpasikat,’ “Showtime” has become the public arena in which gifted Filipinos showcase their wide-ranging talents and fulfill their simple wish to be seen on television.
Bringing only the best of Filipino talents, the hit show was the launching pad for dance groups XB Gensan, its Season 1 champion, Laoag Gymnastics Group of Season 2, True Colors of Season 3, and Astig Pinoy of Season 4 that brought collective triumph to the barangays they represent.
Through the show’s ‘barangayan’ aspect, the contestants’ struggles and victory become a shared effort that binds their local communities. As long as the “Showtime” stage is set and ready, there is proof that success is always within reach to those who work hard enough to make their dreams come true.
But through it all, like what they always say "Some good things never last" and so with "Showtime". Just this morning, January 28, the "Showtime" family - from host, dancers, past and present hurados, staff and crew and all the guests that made the show number 1 for the past two years bid madlang people a teary yet wacky goodbye. Because it’s your show and your time, it's “Showtime”.
Multi-platinum-selling singer and actor Christian Bautista will be escorted to a plane and sent back to the Philippines on Friday night after violating the terms of his visa by giving a performance in Indonesia this week.
Immigration official Herawan Sukoaji said on Friday that Bautista was being deported for disrespecting and disobeying Indonesia’s 30-day visa regulations, which prohibit foreigners from working while in the country.
Bautista is also barred from re-entering Indonesia for six months, Herawan added. The singer is scheduled to leave Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on an 8 p.m. Singapore Airlines flight.
“Christian’s departure to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will be escorted by investigators from the Directorate General of Immigration,” Herawan said.
Bautista was pulled in for questioning and had his passport confiscated on Thursday after it was discovered that he had staged a performance in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, the previous night.
After being questioned by immigration officials, he appeared on TransTV on Thursday night.
The announcement that he would be deported came on Friday morning. According to Herawan, Bautista has traveled to Indonesia numerous times on a work visa.
“But this time, the sponsor did not fully understand the immigration regulations, so Christian used the free visa,” Herawan said.
Bautista's manager, however, denied that the Pinoy singer had been deported.
"Christian is not deported. Whatever the problems in the immigration was legally settled. He is on his way home from Singapore tomorrow and will be back in Jakarta for his Valentine's concert in Hotel Mulia," manager Carlo Orosa said.
He said Bautista will be flying to Singapore tonight before returning to Manila on Saturday. With a report from TV Patrol

Edward Norton, who's here in Manila for 'The Bourne Legacy' shoot, has a long list of celebrity fans in the Philippines.
First on the list is the pretty Anne Curtis who was one of the first Filipino celebs to tweet on Twitter that Edward Norton is her favorite actor, when she learned that he's here in Manila to shoot 'The Bourne Legacy'.
Anne was even caught sending a sweet welcome message directly to Edward's Twitter account. (Read: Anne Curtis sends tweet to 'Bourne Legacy' actor Edward Norton, targets Hollywood?)
Even her close friends, model Georgina Wilson and actress-model Solenn Heussaff, also revealed on Twitter that they consider Norton as their top favorite actor.
That's why it wasn't surprising when they turned into "die-hard" fans for a while and were reported visiting the set of 'The Bourne Legacy' just to see Edward Norton.
Georgina and Solenn along with friends, TV host Raymond Gutierrez and actress Carla Humphries, were reportedly scene-stealers at the shoot, as some people wondered why they were there and thought they're part of the film as "extras".
Some other Filipino celebrities who also admitted on Twitter that they're a fan of Edward Norton are Jason Abalos, Glaiza de Castro, Paulo Avelino, Megan and Lauren Young, Saab Magalona, Biboy Ramirez, Karen delos Reyes, Patty Laurel and Mo Twister.
This saturday, January 28, we bid farewell to the Kapamilya entertainment talk show 'E Live'. Let’s all join hosts Luis Manzano, Nikki Gil, Bianca Gonzales and Ogie Diaz on its final episode this saturday.

Alta stars Gretchen Barretto as Marga, KC Concepcion as Alexa and Angelica Panganiban as Rosana. The leading men include Diether Ocampo as Vince, Luis Manzano as Rafael and Zanjoe Marudo as Ato.
Derek Ramsay was originally considered to be in the cast but he and girlfriend Angelica have agreed that they won't work in a teleserye together in favor of their relationship (read: to avoid rumors/controversies).
Sam Milby was also supposed to be in this project but he would be leaving for the US this February to try to have an international career
The trailer alone is full of one-liners and the series, for sure, will have more catchy lines that the televiewers will remember for a long time.

"Kaya kong bilhin pati pag-ibig mo." - Rafael (Luis Manzano)
"Wala akong pakialam o kailangang patunayan, pagmamahal mo lang ang gusto kong ipaglaban." - Vince (Diether Ocampo)

Bourne Legacy Lead Actor Edward Norton Arrives in Manila
After Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton also arrives in Manila for 'Bourne Legacy' shooting.
Norton arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 22 from Bangkok.
According to ABS-CBN news anchor Ces Drilon who was in the same flight with the Hollywood actor, Norton, who was accompanied by his girlfriend immediately boarded a car waiting for him at the airport. He also reportedly declined picture taking requests from fans.
Sarah Geronimo bids ASAP 2012 goodbye. Why? Because she's about to start her new Sunday night live concert show on TV titled "Sarah G Live!".
Premiering on February 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., "Sarah G Live!" will replace Vice Ganda's top-rating stand-up comedy show on TV "Gandang Gabi, Vice" which will goes off air only to return soon with a totally different concept and title - "The Singing V (The Singing Vice)".
"I am very happy with the concept of the show. But every time I do shows onstage to perform, I am not that confident. I still get nervous. Doing this show every Sunday is like doing a concert at the Araneta week after week," Sarah said of her new show.
Sarah, who says that this show will surely give her the chance to showcase what else she can do aside from singing, will be joined by a set of special co-hosts and guests weekly.

Actress Iza Calzado is now a certified Kapamilya star.
MANILA, Philippines - Actress Iza Calzado is now a certified Kapamilya.
On Tuesday afternoon, Calzado signed a three-year-contract with ABS-CBN.
Present during the signing were ABS-CBN executives including the network's president Charo Santos-Concio.
"Una sa lahat, I'm grateful for all the opportunity that GMA-7 has given me for almost 10 years. But, I just think that this is time for me to grow, to evolve, to learn. I think it's just a matter of timing and I've always wanted to work again with people from Channel 2. Kasi noong nag-Star Cinema ako for 'Milan' sabi ko one day I'm sure I will work with them again. I guess this is just the way it works. It's just a business and at some point we will make a certain decision and hopefully without burning bridges," Calzado said.
The actress admitted that it was a hard decision for her to move to ABS-CBN, explaining that she will really miss people she worked with, including Eat Bulaga's main hosts Joey de Leon, Vic Sotto and Senator Tito Sotto.
"Isa sa pinakamahirap na desisyon sa akin na iwanan ang Eat Bulaga. You can never understand what it is like unless you were part of that family. Napakabait nila and it takes a certain personality to jell with them and I was fortunate enough to have that kind of personality and they are very fun kaya lang I really need to do this. I'm sure maiintindihan nila," she said.
According to Calzado, included in her contract are a television series and reality show. She is also set to do a film.
"What I am allowed to disclose at this very moment is mayroon po akong drama show at magkakaroon ako ng reality TV show. Hindi naman ito tungkol sa buhay ko, kaya huwag kayong mag-alala di niyo ako susundan sa bahay ko," she said.
According to speculations, Calzado is being eyed to host the second season of "Pinoy Biggest Loser," replacing Sharon Cuneta.
In the interview, Calzado said she would like to do a project with actors Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz.
"So far gusto kong makasama ulit si Piolo, gusto ko siyang makasama di lang dahil sa crush ko siya kung di nakasama ko na siya sa 'Milan.' Gusto ko ding makasama si John Lloyd and I know that soon, I think, I will be working with him and, of course, Jericho Rosales and a lot like the younger ones like Gerald Anderson. I'm not saying that I wanna work with them because I wanna paired up with them, not necessarily. I really wanna work with people and I want to see what they're like."
"Sa (female stars) I would like to work with Judai (Judy Ann Santos). I want to work with Bea (Alonzo) who established a very good reputation as far as acting is concerned. Si Angelica Panganiban is a very strong character and a very strong actress as well. Si Karylle and Jodi Sta. Maria, I really want to work with them," she said.
She also said that as a new Kapamilya star, she's now ready to face tougher competition.
"At the end of the day it (competition) serves as a motivation and challenge but I'm not going to take anyone's place. I would like to make my own space and fill up a certain niche that maybe only I can fill," she said.
The much-awaited daring cover of actress KC Concepcion for men's magazine Rogue is finally out.
"The long wait is over. The one and only @kc_concepcion," photographer Marc Nicdao said on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
On the cover, Concepcion is shown wearing a white, one-piece, high cut swimsuit.
Speculations on Concepcion's photos fo r Rogue were fanned last week, when the actress's mother, Sharon Cuneta, expressed apprehensions about the pictorial on Twitter.
"tutti! I'm nervous about rogue! Did u stay your decent self or steal my future daring pose?!!" Cuneta said on her Twitter account.
Concepcion replied: "I'm nervous too! Kasi I did the future daring pose. Hahaha don't look na! :)"
"Women have a strength they might not always believe they have... • And that's what my ROGUE Jan/Feb 2012 mag issue is all about. :)" Concepcion also tweeted.
Katy Perry kissed a guy in Manila and she liked it!
During her concert at SM Mall of Asia in Manila on Sunday, Katy Perry asked a lucky guy from theaudience to be with her on the stage and surprised him with a kiss, reportedly on the lips! The "Firework" singer must have liked it since the guy was no other than the handsome Pinoy Big Brother alum Ivan Dorschner.
The American pop-singer then allowed Ivan to kiss her back.
Katy Perry actually did the same thing during the Jakarta leg of her "California Dreams Tour" but if the lips part were true, Ivan's case was different then since the Indonesian guy only got a kiss on his cheek.
